Dropkick Murphy machen seit einem Vierteljahrundert Musik – konsequent im Stil, konsequent in der Hingabe. Mit „Turn Up That Dial“ machen sie folgendessen nichts anderes, auch ihr neuester Longplayer ist eine Ansammlung von Schunkel-Schaukel in Irish-Folk- und Punk-Manier.
Aussenseiter-Romantik trifft auf Macho-Macho trifft auf Überraschungsarmut trifft auf Mitgröhl-Faktor-Hoch-Zehn. Das alles soll nicht negativ tönen, ist auch nicht negativ gemeint: nur eben Geschmacksache.
Dropkick Murphys wollen aber auch nichts anderes feilbieten bzw. möchten Spass und Erleichterung übertragen: „With the 11 tracks on „Turn Up That Dial“, we celebrate the simple pleasure of music, the relief and release from worry that comes when you “turn up that dial” and blast your troubles away.“
